The Ballarat Mining Exchange was built in the late 1800’s. It was used for trading of shares in mining companies during the Gold Rush era.
The project was to make the building safe and functional for the Ballarat community to use as a large gathering place. It needed an urgent upgrade, new amenities, commercial kitchen and generally modernising to cater for all types of functions. With the polished flooring and sub floor heating, it can be used all year round. The heritage of the building is still intact and although contemporary in its use and facilities, can return you to an era of times gone by
